top chinese ai labs raised $9b totally, and around $7.35b more are coming from deepseek

- the us leads in frontier models, compute, and commercialization
- china is rapidly consolidating capital and scaling fast
- both ecosystems are concentrating around a small number of champions
the leaderboard matters less than the direction of travel. china’s ai funding machine is clearly accelerating

Exclusive: DeepSeek is seeking up to $7.35 billion in what could become the largest funding round ever for a Chinese AI startup, as the company shifts from pure research to commercialization.
