grok bot adds its own email address, x search and payments

xai has released grok bot v0.70.2, adding dedicated email addresses for bots, search across x without a connected account, interactive apps in chat, and payments through x money and stripe link.

what's new in grok bot v0.70.2

the update brings five main changes:

  • bots get their own email address. each account can claim one email address, shared across all its bots. bots can receive messages at that address, while outgoing emails remain drafts until the user approves them.
  • search across x without connecting an account. bots can search posts and read profiles without users linking their x accounts, giving grok bot direct access to content on a platform within xai's ecosystem.
  • interactive apps inside chat. connectors for services such as figma, notion and canva can display interactive app cards in conversations, bringing more of their functionality into the chat interface.
  • payments through x money and stripe link. bots can make payments through either service, expanding their ability to carry out transactions, subject to approval controls for sensitive actions.
  • more integrations and file formats. the release adds glean through a custom mcp url and quickbooks online. bots can also save web pages as pdfs and send mp3, m4a and wav audio files.

grok bot is moving toward a more autonomous ai agent that can manage emails, work across external services and handle payments with less user input. access to x and support for x money strengthen its ties to xai's ecosystem, while approval requirements help keep users in control of sensitive actions. however, the growing number of integrations also makes reliability more important.
