meta, google, nvidia, krea, black forest labs and tesla launched new products between oct 12 and oct 16. openai said it found a hidden recorder in one of its offices. this recap follows the video we cut from their own posts. the performance figures are the companies' own claims, except where we name artificial analysis.
meta released muse wonder
meta released muse wonder and muse wonder full on oct 12. meta calls them frontier models for personal and professional agents. our muse wonder article has the detail.
- muse wonder – available through the meta model api and muse code, according to meta's announcement.
- benchmark – artificial analysis scored muse wonder 52 and muse wonder full 56 at max reasoning effort. muse spark 1.3, released six weeks earlier, scored 48.
meta also says the muse wonder series leads on benchmarks for agents, memory and coding. we did not test that claim.
google made gemini 4 argon available to everyone
google made gemini 4 argon globally available on oct 13. it ships with an intro price that lasts until nov 30. our gemini 4 argon article covers the benchmarks and where the model falls short.
- price – $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens until nov 30, then $4 and $20.
- benchmark – artificial analysis gives argon 53 on its intelligence index, level with gpt-6 astra at max reasoning.
- clip in our video – a 3d temple that the on-screen caption says was built in blender using gemini 4 argon.
the model still trails claude opus 5.5 on terminal-bench 4.0, so the intro price is not a sign of a lead in coding.
nvidia, krea and black forest labs ship agent and image models
nvidia released an open vision-language model, and two image labs shipped editing models in the same hours on oct 15. the speed and quality figures below come from the three companies. we did not run the models.
- nemotron 3.5 super vl – an open model with 120b total and 12b active parameters. nvidia says it combines text, image, document and video understanding for agents.
- krea 3 – the beta opened on oct 15. krea says it edits in 2k in under 8 seconds and matches nano banana pro or gpt image 2.5 on quality.
- flux 3 image klein – black forest labs says the open-weights model has 5.6b parameters and runs on a single consumer gpu. it has native 4k and bounding boxes.
none of the three posts gives an independent benchmark, so speed and quality remain claims until a third party tests them.
openai says it found a hidden recorder in its office
openai said on oct 13 that it found a sophisticated recording device hidden in one of its offices. it said it used its own models to work out what the device was and where it came from. that pointed to a specific employee who had planted it days earlier. openai referred the matter to the fbi.
techcrunch reported the same day that the fbi arrested a saudi national who worked on openai's product team. later posts said the justice department had filed charges. we have not read the filing, and this recap does not rely on it.
tesla showed a roadster that drives up a wall
tesla posted a series of roadster videos on oct 15 and 16. two of them show the car in stunt footage, and tesla's own captions do not explain how the footage was made.
- wall run – a clip captioned "real life, baby" shows the roadster driving up a curved wall and taking off.
- flip – a second clip, captioned "do a kickflip!", shows the car flipping in the air on its thrusters.
- specs – tesla's feature post lists active aerodynamics, a multi-mode suction system and cold-gas thrusters. tesla says the active aero gives the best passive downforce package of any road car, approaching f1 levels.
we did not find a price or a delivery date in the posts we reviewed.
