Pika adds Kling 4.0 to its API at $0.157 per second

pika plugs kling 4.0 into its api at $0.157 per second: a man jacks a cable into a server as video frames stream through models

Pika said on October 28 that developers can build with Kling 4.0 through the Pika API Club. The post linked a model page on Pika's developer site. We read Pika's model page, a price listing on its developer site and the reports about the maker's own API.

What Pika announced

The post is a short reply that begins "Or build with it through the Pika API Club". It gives no specs and no release details. Kling 4.0 is a model from Kuaishou, not from Pika. Pika's model page credits Kuaishou and says the details come from Kling AI's release note.

That page lists Kling 4.0 as live today, with clips up to 30 seconds and output up to 4K. Kling 4.0 Flash, a faster draft model with 20-second clips at 720p, is live too, and Kling 3.0 stays available. The page was last updated on October 27, 2026. To see why developers would want the model, it helps to look at what Kuaishou shipped.

What Kling 4.0 does

Kuaishou says Kling 4.0 officially launched on October 15 and announced it in a press release on October 19. A lighter Kling 4.0 Flash had reached top-tier annual subscribers first, on September 28. The headline spec is native generation of up to 30 seconds in one pass, double Kling 3.0's 15 seconds.

According to Pika's page, the model takes up to 15 references and up to 10 keyframes. It generates stereo sound with lip sync, speaks more than 10 languages and can edit existing clips. Output comes in 720p, 1080p or 4K. 10-bit HDR and extension to two minutes are announced for later.

All of these specs come from Kuaishou and the sellers. Artificial Analysis has not yet published an arena rating for Kling 4.0. What developers can already compare is the price.

What Pika charges

Pika's developer site prices text-to-video by output second. The table shows the two rates for Kling 4.0 on Pika.

ResolutionPrice per second
720p$0.157
1080p$0.235

These rates come from a pricing page on Pika's developer site. One caveat: the URL of that page points to a different Kling product (kling-ai-avatar-v2), although the listing itself names Kling 4.0 and text-to-video. We could not confirm that this is the page Pika's announcement links to.

At these rates, a full 30-second clip costs about $4.71 at 720p and $7.05 at 1080p. The same figures appear at other sellers.

How other sellers compare

SandBase lists the same two rates, as does fal, according to a price comparison by Aireiter. SandBase charges less for edits and video-reference jobs, at $0.094 per second at 720p and $0.141 at 1080p, billed on input plus output.

UnificAlly lists $0.126 at 720p and $0.189 at 1080p. That price includes a 10% launch sale that runs to October 29. None of the sellers offers a 4K rate for Kling 4.0 yet. The gap between sellers is small but real, so a developer should compare terms and not only the headline rate.

Kling 4.0 API price per second: Pika, fal and SandBase $0.157 at 720p and $0.235 at 1080p, UnificAlly $0.126 and $0.189 on sale, Kuaishou preview about $0.14 and $0.21

What the maker says about access

The reports on the maker's side do not agree. Digital Applied says Kuaishou's developer pricing page stated on October 26 that Kling 4.0 API access was not yet available. It says the listed unit rates were for preview only. At Kuaishou's list price per unit, Digital Applied works them out to about $0.14 per second at 720p and $0.21 at 1080p.

SandBase cites reports from Wallstreetcn and TokenPost that date the official API launch to October 21, with access opening gradually. We could not open Kuaishou's page ourselves. The conflict stays open. Pika does not say how its access relates to the maker's own program.

Rivals are in a similar spot. ByteDance's BytePlus announced Seedance 2.5 4K on October 23 for selected enterprise customers, without a published price. That leaves builders with a familiar question.

What it means for builders

So is Pika the place to build on Kling 4.0? It is one of several. Pika, fal and SandBase list the same rates, UnificAlly is slightly cheaper during its sale, and Kuaishou's own API status is still disputed. If Digital Applied's reading is right, the maker's preview rates are about 10% below the resellers'. The model's 30-second clips and stereo audio are real reasons to try it, but no seller offers 4K yet. Before building on any hub, check its price, limits and access terms against Kuaishou's own pages.
