conclusions: the star wasn't the glasses. meta is building a store where the shopper is an ai agent.

muse, meta’s ai agent launched sep 8 gives every user an agent with its own secure cloud computer. zuckerberg said meta used to think the metaverse would come first and ai later. now "personal superintelligence will not only come first, it will be much bigger".

what matters for builders:

- the agent is the new customer. walmart, best buy, gap, sephora and wayfair are integrating with muse. it shops the whole shopify catalog and pays with shop pay and paypal. amazon wasn't named
- the money moves to checkout. muse is free for a large token budget – meta plans to earn a small fee on transactions
- the platform is open. muse’s 1,500+ developer applications are for building connectors – @alexandr_wang calls it a generational opportunity
- muse has hands. with your permission it drives any app on a mac and keeps working after you walk away
- muse haggles on your behalf. wang's example: it negotiated with a cable company in its support chat and cut $85/month off the bill – ~$1,000 a year
- trust is architecture. a private virtual machine per user now, a confidential one even meta can't read next

the hardware:
- meta vr glasses – ~100 grams, 5x lighter than quest 3, agent built into the os, $1,299.99, spring 2027
- ray-ban meta audio – meta's first glasses with no camera, 43 grams, from $349, ships oct 13
- muse charm – a keychain device just for talking to your agent. no price yet, zuckerberg says the plan is december
